About this property

Welcome to Hampton Inn & Suites Savannah Historic District

Located in the heart of Savannah’s historic district, Hampton Inn & Suites Savannah Historic District offers straightforward accommodations suited to travelers seeking convenience and comfort. The hotel is situated near landmarks such as the Georgia State Railroad Museum and SCAD Museum of Art, appealing to visitors interested in exploring the city’s cultural offerings. The property features simple, clean rooms equipped with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. While the hotel does not have a restaurant on-site, complimentary hot breakfast is included, providing added value. Amenities also include an outdoor pool, fitness center, and accessibility features. Paid parking is available, though some guests have mentioned the nightly fee as a notable expense during their stay.

Reviews highlight the attentive and helpful staff, particularly for occasions like anniversaries, and the generally quiet atmosphere on higher floors. However, some feedback points to the older style of the hotel’s interiors and building maintenance issues such as dated air-conditioning units and occasional moisture concerns. Street-level rooms may be affected by traffic noise, so quieter rooms are often preferred by those sensitive to sound.

My flight was delayed in getting in and I had to check in at 1:30am but I called ahead and they said they would be ready for me. I had to knock loudly but they buzzed me in fine. I told the male receptionist I requested a quiet room as I was exhausted and needed sleep. So I got a room on 4th floor- and as I was getting unpacked the room next door had a dog and it stated to bark. By then it was almost 2am and I called down to ask for a room change because it was loud and annoying. So he had me come down and change keys. Went to the other room and I heard outside traffic but turned on a sound machine and had a good nights rest. In the morning I slept in and went down to eat bfast at 9:50am. Grabbed eggs and bacon and sat down to eat and when I took a bite the food was cold. I went up and asked them to heat up my food which she did but then forgot about me for a bit so I went and sat down. She apologized and I said it’s fine. Next day I went down at 9am and food was cold again and they warmed it up for me again. I chose not to eat there the rest of the time. I had packages delivered and the front desk was always kind enough to call my room and let me know. Checkout was a breeze. So all in all it was a nice stay just had some minor hiccups.

Staff was excellent. Older hotel but kept well maintained and clean. Typical breakfast, but good. Would stay here again in the future.

Street side rooms on lower floors get a bit of traffic noise starting around 5ish. Great location. Easy walk to every thing. Lots of close by dinning and drinking ootions.

Superb location, within walking distance of the historical center and the riverside. The rooms are big and clean, and the ambiance matches the city perfectly. The hotel DOES NOT have free parking, it's 35 dlls per night.

This was me and my boyfriend’s first time in Savannah and this hotel was great! Room was clean and spacious. It is a great location and a 15 minute walk from anywhere you could want to go. The staff was amazing. Huge special shoutout to Cem who helped my boyfriend prepare something for our anniversary. He went above and beyond to create something special!! I would definitely stay here again!!

Overall it wasn’t a bad place to stay. I was pretty surprised to find out that parking was $30 per night here. We were not notified ahead of time. The rooms were fairly clean. They could definitely benefit from a renovation. The A/C was old and the room seemed like it had moisture in the air. The location was good. It’s just a short walk from some shopping and restaurants. My only main complaint was the price of the parking. I do think that should be included in the price of the hotel.

I had the most amazing 8 days of holidays celebrating my 40s in my solo trip from Dublin, Ireland. The hotel became home to me: everything was amazing, from the breakfast, to the service, to the cleanliness and the quiet of the room. The position is the best to walk around Savannah. I’m already planning to come back in the next months! Thank you so much for everything, I left almost in tears Paola.

I chose this Hampton Inn because of its proximity to SCAD, as my daughter and I were there for the SCAD open house weekend. It is very, very close to the SCAD museum (where we checked in) and the dorms. Also, it is very close to the Telfair Museum and the Telfair Academy. We walked everywhere as usual and had no problems at all. I chose the two-queen room with a pull-out sofa bed so we would have a little extra room, and the size was great. The room was huge compared to most hotel rooms. I was very pleased with the size and the furnishings. The main problem was the air conditioning. This is November, so the AC units should not be stressed at these temperatures. It was boiling hot when we entered our room, so I set the window unit to 70 and we left for several hours. When we returned, the room was cooler but definitely not 70. After multiple attempts over 3 days, I finally got it to cool down. I had to set the window AC on 65 to have it register 70 degrees on the room thermostat on the wall (which doesn't adjust). I read many reviews with the same complaint... the hotel AC probably needs to be replaced. If the system is struggling in November, it will really be under duress in July! In Savannah, GA, A/C is a must. Folks will not stay here if their rooms are hot. I was able to check in at 12:30 pm which I was very thankful for. I appreciated that gesture by the front desk. I did, however, get one of the last available (paid) parking spaces in their lot. I'm not sure where folks have to park after 3:00 pm, but that lot doesn't look like it would hold a fraction of the cars staying there. Just a FYI, get there early and don't move your car if you want to keep a spot! Overall, we were happy with our room but I feel like we paid quite a lot for the level of quality we received.
